Gene Vincent
February 11, 1935 – October 12, 1971

"The Last of the Rockers in the land of Pop"
— JIVE: Rock 'n' Roll and other Four-Letter Words

LEFT: Gene Vincent was Capitol Records' answer to RCA's Elvis Presley as the labels scrambled to get onboard the Rock 'n' Roll bandwagon in 1956. CENTER: Later that year Vincent and his Blue Caps were featured in the acclaimed Rock movie "The Girl Can't Help It" with Eddie Cochran, Fats Domino, the Platters and Little Richard. RIGHT: Vincent was the last of the rockers on the land of Pop and found greater acceptance in Europe where the fans revered him, and it's there he remained, 'til the screaming end, a rocker's Rocker.
