| LEFT: Ricky was born into a show biz family with bandleader father, Ozzie, and songstress mother, Harriet. The Nelson's radio show from the late '40s developed into television's "The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet" in 1952. LEFT CENTER: Ricky's interest in singing Rock 'n' Roll led to spot promotions on their tv show watched by millions through the 1950s. His smooth, non-threatening middle-class Rockabilly sound helped introduce Rock 'n' Roll into the living rooms of America. RIGHT CENTER: Singing a mixture of rockers and ballads, sixteen-year-old Ricky became a teen idol — charting 33 Top Forty hits over the next seven years. RIGHT: In the 'late 1960s Rick became an early proponent of Country Rock fronting his Stone Canyon Band. He and the band died in a plane crash enroute to a New Year's date on December 31, 1985. | |||
